To help you prepare for your implant restoration, here’s what you should expect:
Consultation: One of our dentists will conduct a thorough examination, including X-rays, to assess your oral health, jawbone density, and suitability for the implant.
Implant Placement: The initial surgery involves making an incision in the gum tissue to access the underlying bone. The dentist will drill a hole and carefully place the titanium post (implant) into the jawbone. The gum tissue is then sutured closed.
Osseointegration: This critical period involves the integration of the implant with the surrounding jawbone, creating a strong foundation for the artificial tooth.
Crown Placement: Once osseointegration is complete, the dentist performs a minor procedure to attach the abutment, a small connector, to the implant, and then the dentist places the custom-made artificial crown, securing it to the abutment.
Follow Up Appointments: Once the implant restoration is complete, the dentist may make minor adjustments to ensure the proper fit and function of the new teeth. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene practices are essential for maintaining long-term oral health and the longevity of the implant restoration.

I DO NOT like the idea of a dentist office... Really. It's been over 10 years. So that said, I'll say this: I wish I would have went to them years ago! This place is super clean, and the staff really care! No judgement, just nice and helpful. The dentist didn't act like he was in a hurry to move to the next person either. I will not go anywhere else! They need 10 Stars!!!! There isn't enough room to type all the positive things about this place!

My husband and I along with our two boys (currently 6 & 3) go to Topping Dental in Elkhart and we are so thankful for everyone there! The front desk ladies are so kind and welcoming, the office is clean and has a room for the kids to play while waiting for their appointments. Special shoutout to our hygienist Ashley! She has paw patrol on for both my boys while they get their teeth cleaned and it makes them so happy! Highly recommend Dr Swihart and Ashley!

My family and I have been going to Topping Dental for almost 2 years now and our experience has been fantastic for both my wife and I and our 4 year old daughter. The location we visit is clean, the staff is always friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Swihart and his staff are very thorough in their examination and explanations. Would highly recommend going to see them if you are looking for an awesome dental experience.

daughter to my appointment the dental assistants and the hygienist did an amazing job at keeping her entertained, taught her how the equipment worked so she wasn’t scared, and played with her in the kids area for me. Highly recommend this office!

I absolutely love Topping Dental in Elkhart . All staff members starting from front desk all the way to the back are all great at what they do. My family and I always feel welcome in the office. Dr. Swihart is super amazing! Today my 3 year old and my 6 year old had their first cleaning appointment in the office . They didn’t cry or complain about anything .

Super friendly! Any questions they help out all of our kids come and they enjoy the kids area. The dental hygienists know them and it’s nice if the kids are nervous. If we need more more always helpful in recommending the right places for further work.
